As a retired varsity athlete at the top of her game, Marni switched gears from the highly competitive world of soccer and poured her energy into the highly uncompetitive world of Craft Beer. She’s no stranger to the Port Moody community and comes part and parcel to the great team that is Yellow Dog Brewing.
Starting in 2012 at Douglas College, Marni joined the ranks of some of the top soccer players that call Canada their home. As a two time PACWEST Player of the Year award winner, she is no stranger to being in the spotlight which is great because being included as a team member of Yellow Dog means continually being in the spotlight both in the craft beer community and fellow Port Moody residents.
Marni started at Yellow Dog about a year ago and has become a key player in the ever-growing tasting room. If you’ve ever been in the tasting room and have had a chance to meet her, you’ll have no doubt witnessed her intensity…yes, she brings it everywhere she goes.
With 2017 well underway and summer just around the corner, Marni has a year of beer league softball under her belt and has just completed her first ever brew for the Siris Cask Fest along with two of her Yellow Dog Brewing team mates. The Siris Cask Fest, by the way, was the first of it’s kind which celebrated women of brewing, offering a complete day of craft beer made by the women of the craft brewing industry.
So, this month we put Marni in the spotlight. When you come in make sure you say ‘Hi!’ to her, throw up a welcoming hand and give the best High Five ever. She LOVES giving people High Fives!
